A heart-stopping story wrapped in an enchanting, mythic legend. – Virginia Henley

If you read the Blackthorn Trilogy in chronological order, you'd find Midnight's Bride is really the middle tale. Always Mine introduced the Blackthorn men and women, and Risk Everything touched lightly on each of them. With this book, you learn all about Mereck, a man who loves women but won't let himself fall in love with any particular one in fear he will kill her.

That's quite a dilemma for a sexy hunk of a man, isn't it?

Mereck is nothing like Damron or Rolf. He has the same body build as Damron, since they shared the same father. And you'll remember Brianna awakening on Damron's lap and seeing Mereck warming his, er, magnificent lower extremities. She immediately recognized him as being a Morgan of Blackthorn.

All the Blackthorn men are Alpha males, totally sexy and worthy of panting over, but you'll note a difference in Mereck. Though his temper is legendary when he loses control, you'll find a tender spot in his soul that will turn you to mush.

He loves women. Damron near drove Mereck to pummel him into mushy gruel because of the way Damron treated Brianna when he first brought her to Blackthorn. Mereck would never hurt a single hair on a woman's head, if he could help it. And he can help it if he's very careful not to fall in love.

If he dares to love, all bets are off…he will kill her.

There isn't anything he can do about it.

'Tis his lot in life. His destiny.

(Five Stars), Donna Zapf, Cata Romance, Single Titles
“..witty dialog, provides some very amusing reading, so much so that I lost myself in the tale, And then there is the smoldering passion waiting to be unleashed in the ruggedly handsome Mereck; every woman's fantasy. Each of the Blackthorn books have a different temperament governed by its marvelous characters; which causes me to eagerly await more delightfully delicious stories from talented Sophia Johnson.”

(Overall Rating - 10; Sensuality – 10; History – 10). Leah, Historical Romance Writers Book Reviews
“Ms. Johnson's characters are real and refreshing…she thought long and hard about how to make the story of Netta and Mereck unique. The fast paced story never slows down and keeps up its momentum throughout the book. I now need to go back and read the first and third stories in this trilogy.”

(Four Coffee Cups) Cherokee, Reviewer for Coffee Time Romance & Karen Find Out About New Books
“Sophia Johnson pens a magnificent historical romance that speaks stylishly with well-crafted dialog, stunning adventure, and even some with that makes the reader deeply satisfied once the last page is read.”
